The Pale Sleeper
At the top of a heavy ring, a curled black form like a horn or a knot rises above a rounded pale grey shape: a resting head, perhaps, or a stone. From beneath it a black fan of vertical strokes falls into the white centre like hair or rain, and small orange-red petals drift below. The greys here are silvery and atmospheric, quieter than in many of the other rings. The suggestion of a sleeper, a bowed head, or a thought slipping away into empty white is left open. The signature appears at the lower right.
