R.K. SAINI

Beyond Form.
Within the Infinite.

A collection of 21 original works exploring form, consciousness, nature and the infinite.

A black spiralling disc with a full white moon at its centre, against which stands a lone tree with grey-black foliage, a twisting trunk touched with dusky pink and roots dropping into the dark.

The Collection

Almost every work in this collection begins with the same gesture: a dark circle, built up from repeated, combed strokes until it feels less painted than wound. The rings tighten, spiral and open, and what sits at their centre changes from sheet to sheet.

Sometimes it is a small burst of colour: a red disc, a turquoise pool, a violet iris. Sometimes it is a face, a figure, a tree against a moon. The circle becomes by turns an eye, a well, a planet, a shell, a mask.

The works are presented here as a sequence rather than a catalogue, moving from the cosmic to the intimate and ending, deliberately, on a single tree under a moon.
