Ganesha Emerges
A fine black line draws Lord Ganesha in profile: a curling trunk, a large ear, a watchful eye and a small red dot on the forehead. His form emerges from the paper rather than sitting on it, set against heavy bands of black brushwork that sweep around him like a canopy. In the backdrop, on stacked rocky slabs, a tiny figure sits in stillness, as if in meditation, with thin branches rising at either edge. The vision seems to arise from that quiet: delicate line meeting massive gesture, the divine appearing within the rocks and the dark.
